Thanks for your ideas! Peanut butter is not my tast, but it will be easy to add plenty of avocado, olives and seeds.

And Vickey, please also have a look here for reports on healing MS, mainly nutrition/supplement based, I guess you could also include MUFA's.

Heya delighted to get my hands on all of the MUFA's, I'm almost at my target weight, was wondering how much of these MUFA's is too much or is there such thing as too little. If you could let me know I would really appreciate it thanks a mill.

To answer your question Beverly, the jump start food and drinks mentioned are part of the 4-day anti-bloat plan. The authors give specific suggestions on what foods to avoid in order to prevent bloating (such as spicy food, soda, raw veggies, etc.) The drinks they recommend on the 4-day anti-bloat part of the diet include a variety of smoothies, of which they provide the recipes, and the authors' "sassy" water which is a combination of lemons, fresh ginger, cucumbers, and spearmint leaves. I have not tried their version of sassy water, but have tasted similar at day spas and it is delicious.

You can buy the book at any major book store, such as Barnes and Noble, Borders, or Walden. In fact, I just saw it at a Barnes and Noble near my house today. You can also order it from Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Flat-Belly-Diet-Liz-Vaccariello/dp/1594868514/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1226023747&sr=8-1

If you're not sure about buying it, check it out from the library or spend 15-30 minutes reviewing it at the book store.

thanks for the list - I'll be checking some of them out. There are 2 books I revisit again & again - one is for us women over 40 - WHEN YOUR HORMONES GO HAYWIRE by Pamela Smith. Lots of natural and practical ways to deal with raging hormones, plus a spiritual element that keeps me sane!

The other book is TURN UP THE HEAT - Unlock the Fat-Burning Power of your Metabolism by Philip Goglia. It was the first time I heard about raising metabolism by eating more often....it's a little over the top in terms of amount of water to drink and something like 7 cups of veggies every day! Need a chef! : ) But it reshaped what I choose to eat and I lost weight.
